Friday Surf

Anyone up for a surf session at Whiterocks this Friday. Surf looks good and weather cold but clear.

it's the -1c thats making me think twice Provided the roads are clear enough i would like to go. Not sure how long ill stay out on the water for though want to defrost in time for sunday

Once you get paddling its fine. The harder you surf the warmer you get The water will be a bit cold but not as cold as the rivers and after the first ducking you get used to it

Watch that windy road down to the beach if icy, crashed in to another car sliding on the ice there year before last

Yep that road can be a bit of a bitch. If the road looks bad we can go to the west strand, should be no problem there

Working this friday The temperature shouldnt be a problem for you Vix sure it was -3 to -4 degrees when we were at Benburb stop being a woss

Ahhhhhh peer pressure who am i kidding of course im gona go, been itching to get out in the surf for too long.....bring in on boys and girls ......so who else is man/mad enough to join us?????

After standing all lonely and not wanted at Shaws 2day there's no way I'm gonna miss out on this.

OK folks, meet at Moira roundabout [moira side] at 9 o'clock. We can check out the beeches in Portrush first and then have a look at Whiterocks. I will bring a gas ring so if you wont to bring soup etc you will be able to heat it up, and have a hot cup of tea.
If anyone would like to go and needs gear I have some kit that I can loan, list below. The surf will be in the 3 foot range so it is suitable for all levels of paddler so don't be put off if you are just starting out.

hey Tony, you forgot thermals, thermals, thermals and a flask of anything hot, it's meant to be -2/3 during the day up there tomorrow.
