Turkey Paddle 27th DEC

i am in for the turkey Paddle

Thanks for a great wee day everyone although the fish supper that i just stuffed into me was almost better than the actual paddle lol, never been so hungry in my life well and truely burnt the turkey off Hopefully see sum of ya's durin the week or at the weekend for a paddle

Well done to everyone who completed the turkey paddle! You have just completed well over half of the Blackwater canoe trail!

We had to brave black ice on the motorway, a skating rink (sorry carpark) at Benburb and Bonds Bridge, a rather long car shuttle, & some floating icebergs on the Blackwater (these Bergs had arrived from Newfoundland & travelled up the Bann & across L.Neagh to try & sink us).....and freezing feet!

The paddle itself was great, 41 paddlers......fantastic. Lots of banter & chat. We even had two paddlers wearing turkey hats.

Well done to my open canoe partner (Derek) who was in an open boat for the first time.......his power paddling was amazing & meant I could relax in the back seat

Christmas Pud & Custard for lunch.......that was a first on the river bank...nice one Kevin!

Afterwards we had Mulled Wine & Soup in the Moy...& we discovered that Vix has a secret love of Country & Western music..!!

lol as much as im tempted to throw some banter back at you Mr Carson i know only too well how it will end....me upside down in my wee boat and very wet

Well done everyone so you went for the Fish Supper instead of the pizza or did you do both So much for my great plan for my indian Next person who mentions the Q word to me will spend the rest of their paddling career up side down
