BCU 1 & 2 Star

John from Mobile Team Adventure will be assessing members of LCP for their 1&2 Star in the near future. There will be training sessions for 1 star at Glenmore Sat 10th and Sat 17th Sept 0930-1130 to run through course syllabus. This will depend on river levels. Post here if interested

Well spotted I meant Oct. Wee blue is on loan those 2 days so I need big red

id def be interested< already have 1 star but it ages old and i think things have changed since i did it!! I cant do the training session on the 10th tho coz im gonna be throwing myself off a building to raise money for marie curie!! abseiling down the invest NI building in belfast so if anyone wants to sponcer me any small donation is appreciated!!!

Hi Guys just to clarify. These sessions at Glenmore (sat 10&17th OCT) are just to give you an idea what you will be assessed on. John Hubbucks from Mobile Team Adventure will be carrying out the assessment- see link to MTA on the home page. The date will be whenever John is available but it will be on either a Sat or Sun approx 6 hr duration.

I've been looking to start up kayaking again, I have a few stars but am pretty rusty. Can I just turn up to one of these sessions or do I need to sign up as a member first? Also would I need any gear or can this be borrowed?

Hey Anna, this event would be perfect for you. Come on down, and get out on the water, we do ask people to join the club after a few sessions, but come down see the set up and meet the other club members before deciding whether or not to join.

A list of everything you need to bring and what the club can provide is available in the welcome pack in the about the club section of the website.

Sun 10th Jan venue and timings to be confirmed.

Open to club members only/ or provisional forum members who have returned their membership form and fee NLT 20th DEC 2009.

a. 1 star Must have completed their PADDLESPORT START certificate

b. 2 star Some members are of a sufficent standard to by pass 1 star and just do 2 star

c. Places are limited so priority will be given to

1. Club Members

2. New members who have had a prior association with the club or its members
